Helping One Person Every day. That’s it. Not a slogan. Not a theory. A real, daily action. HOPE is a movement of people around the world who are proving that showing up matters—and kindness is still contagious.
Every day, somewhere in the world, someone chooses to make a difference—one person at a time. That’s the heartbeat of HOPE. It’s not a catchphrase or a lofty ideal, but a real, daily commitment to showing up, extending kindness, and proving that compassion spreads. We are a growing movement of ordinary people creating extraordinary change, one small act at a time.
Because you don’t need to be perfect. You just need to be present. Because your story, your help, your listening ear—it matters more than you know. Because when you help one person, you help yourself. And you spark a ripple.
This isn’t just a talk. It’s a challenge. It’s a reminder that our strength lies not in what we hold in, but in what we give. In this heartfelt TEDx talk, Matt Halloran shares how one moment on a warship and a lifetime of listening led to a global call for action.

HOPE started on a warship. An 18-year-old kid, adrift in the middle of the ocean and in the middle of life, realized something vital: Helping just one person changed everything.
That kid was me, Matt Halloran. And after two decades of coaching, listening, and witnessing loneliness up close, I finally had a name for what we all need: HOPE. Helping One Person Every day.
This movement isn’t about fixing the world. It’s about showing up in it. It’s about remembering we still matter to one another.
